You ‘can’ save on the student laptops, however your files may be deleted

HOW TO CREATE A NEW PROJECT

  • Open up Netbeans and select “File“ at the top of the screen

  • Click “New Project” and select the Category as: Java and Projects as: Java Application

  • Click the “Next” button and label your project in the Project Name field ( Keep an eye on the project location for the future )

  • Make sure to uncheck the box that says “Create Main Class” and click the “Finish” button

  • In your Projects box, right click Source Packages and click “New” and then “Java Class”

  • Give your class a name and click the “Finish” button

HOW TO OPEN AN EXISTING PROJECT
(It is highly recommended to copy the Project from your USB to your Desktop before you begin)

  • Open up Netbeans and select “File“ at the top of the screen

  • Click “Open Project” and navigate to the location of where the project you’re loading in, is located

  • Double click the project folder and wait for Netbeans to load it in. You’re done!

HOW TO RUN YOUR CODE

  • When you’re ready to test the code you’ve created:

    • Press F5 to build the project and then

    • Press F6 to run the project

    • REMEMBER: You may sometimes have errors in your code!
      Don’t worry, Keep Calm and get your Debug On!
